I didn't get into the State Programme: what now? Alternative routes

Short answer: Not getting into the State Programme (DP) is not the end of your study abroad plan. You can try again next year with a stronger application, apply for foreign government and university scholarships, or choose self-funded study in countries with lower costs.

1. Analyse the reason

• Did the university or field match DP's priority list?
• Were the documents complete and on time?
• How did the interview go?
• Was the admission letter unconditional?

2. A plan for next year

In most cases it is possible to reapply in the next application cycle. Use this year to improve your language level, gain work experience and get an offer from a stronger university.

3. Foreign scholarships

• Chevening, DAAD, Erasmus Mundus, Türkiye Bursları, Stipendium Hungaricum, CSC and others.

4. University scholarships

Many universities give partial or full scholarships to high-achieving international students.
