GMAT

The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is a specialized exam designed for business schools and for MBA (Master of Business Administration), management and finance Master's programs. It measures a candidate's decision-making and analytical skills in a business environment.

Exam structure (GMAT Focus Edition)

The exam consists of 3 equal sections (the essays have been removed from this format):

  • Quantitative Reasoning: Tests the ability to solve purely mathematical problems rather than analyze data. Calculators are not allowed in this section.
  • Verbal Reasoning: Measures critical thinking and reading comprehension. Unlike the GRE, it is not about memorizing difficult words but about identifying logical arguments.
  • Data Insights: Tests the ability to analyze graphs, tables and business data from different sources. The on-screen calculator may be used in this section only.

Scoring

All three sections contribute equally to the total score. The total score ranges from 205 to 805.

Who is it for?

For those who want to become managers, business managers or finance professionals in the future, and who aim to study an MBA at top business schools (for example, Harvard, INSEAD, LBS).
